I don’t usually do many upcoming Boise events on this blog, but this one is pretty timely, what with the series “The War” playing currently on the TV. A number of years ago I had the honor and privilege of visiting a restored B-24 Liberator with my father. He was a B-24 pilot in the Pacific during the war, and I had the chance to go through that airplane with him.. to watch him touch the controls and see the emotions on his face, and to hear him tell some of his memories.. it is a day that I will always remember. Now, maybe you can make one of those memories too.

The B-17 Flying Fortress dubbed “Liberty Belle” will be visiting Boise (Idaho Statesman) the weekend of October 13-14. It’ll be out at Gowen Field and available for close ups, and if you have deeper pockets than I do, you can even get a ride on it. Check out the website for more information about this airplane and the group that cares for it. It has a few more stops besides Boise on its tour yet this year. And if you have a dad or a grandpa to go with, you should go see it together.
