Busy Weekend Coming up

It’s going to be a busy weekend coming up for all of you garage salers and farmers’ market fans.

The Meridian Farmers’ Market is in full swing now, and will be every weekend through September.  The event takes place every Saturday from 9:00am until 1:00pm, in the parking lot of the Boise First Community Center on Eagle Road.

Since I posted earlier in the week about the Hunter Pointe Garage Sale I have been driving around the neighborhoods of Meridian, and it appears that many of the local communities are having garage sales the same day as well.  This Saturday (tomorrow!), besides Hunter Pointe, I know there will be neighborhood sales at Paramount, Cedar Springs, Summerfield, Sundance, and Chateau Meadows.  These are all neighboorhoods in the northeast end of Meridian, around the Locust Grove, Meridian Road, Fairview, Ustick, and McMillan Road area.  Plenty to do and see this weekend, so get out and enjoy the hot weather.  And say hello to all our neighbors!

BCASWI Fall Collection

On thing that is always fun, especially if you’re in the market for a new home, is the Building Contractors Association of SW Idaho’s annual Fall Collection.  This past weekend was the opening weekend, but the show continues for the next two weekends, Saturday and Sunday October 13, 14, 20, and 21.  The homes are open from 11am until 5pm on those days.  Admission is free!

This year, the Fall Collection has 26 homes on tour for you to visit.  A majority of the homes this Fall are in Meridian, and they are relatively close to each other.  The communities represented include Bridgetower, Paramount, the new community of Crossfield, Stradda Bellissima, Saguaro Canyon, and Settlers Bridge.  Some of the builders with homes on the tour are Capitol Building, Tahoe, Amyx, Brighton, Thompson Homes, Eric Evans, Stacy Construction, and Alder Creek just to name a few.

I haven’t been in all of the homes yet, but the ones I have seen are beautiful and well worth the visit.  You can find maps and pictures of all the homes on the BCASWI website.  This weekend, if you need some distraction waiting for the Sunday night football, grab your partner and get out and see a few homes.

Fall Harvest Carnival at Paramount

Paramount will have its Fall Harvest Carnival this coming Friday.  The event will take place at the Paramount Elementary School, from 5pm until 8pm.  Events include a raffle, silent auction of scarecrows, food, and a number of games and booths.

Paramount Summer Concert

Speaking of Paramount…

The Second Annual Summer Concert at the Paramount Community is scheduled for Saturday afternoon, July 21st. Bring your lawn chairs and your family to Crosby Park at 1pm for an afternoon of music and fun.

Crosby Park is located on the south side of the community, where some of the new construction is taking place.

Have you been out looking at some of the newer communities in the Meridian area lately?  How about Paramount?  Paramount is one of the larger master planned communities being developed to date in Ada County.  It covers a full square mile between Chinden on the north, Meridian Road on the east, McMillan on the south, and Linder on the west.  The completed plan will feature primarily single family homes with parks and common areas, and two community pools.  Also included will be retail and office space, as well multi-family residential, along with a high school and an elementary school on site which are nearly finished being constructed, and there is a middle school across Meridian Road from the community.

Paramount is being developed by the Brighton Corporation, which has also been involved in the Harris Ranch, Hobble Creek, and Heritage Commons communities.  The builder team features many of the area’s well known and well respected builders, including Tahoe Homes, The Marrs Company, Canyon Creast, Brighton Homes, Eaglewood, Alder Creek, and Capitol Building Company.

Recent Real Estate Activity

Building out of the roads in the later phases of the community continues, as does construction of a number of new homes.  The neighborhoods around the new school and Crosby Park have plenty of new building activity.

Sales in the community have been fairly good from the beginning of the year, with a total of 48 homes sold since January.  12 of those were new homes sold since June 1st, and there are currently 7 pending new home sales.  There are a total of 72 homes for sale in the community, of which 56 are new.  The prices range from $285,000 to $439,000 on the new homes.
